To provide communities with access to safe water, BRAC WASH undertakes various activities, including development of a water safety plan, installation of deep tube wells, water quality tests and provision of loans for tube well platform construction.

WASH raises awareness on sanitation issues, which creates demand among the community for facilities such as sanitary latrines.

Installation of water supply systems and sanitation facilities is not enough to improve people’s health – good hygiene practices are essential to serve that purpose.

Schools in rural areas either have poor sanitation facilities or none at all. Safe water and adequate sanitation in schools is as important in acquiring a quality education as books and pencils.
